‘Familiar Beginnings’ is the debut album from Heirloom, a Milwaukee-based quartet led by drummer Hannah Johnson and guitarist Ben Dameron, featuring award-winning saxophonist Sam Taylor and bassist Tim Ipsen. A collection of melodic landscapes and improvisational interplay, the album maintains a dream-like quality throughout its eclectic journey.
